BEWARE OF REMODELING SCAM

Beware of remodeling contractors that initialy estimate your renovation as cheap as possible to get the job and tell you when the job is on-going that there are additional items that you need to pay aside from the original amount you contracted them. Remember that a decent bathroom makeover cost a minimum of $10,000.00 and a decent kitchen makeover cost around $ 20,000.00. The kind of kitchen and bathroom works pertaining to this amount is a complete makeover that will give your kitchen or bathroom a new look with the newest high-end materials. With this kind of remodeling price you can now estimate for yourself how much will be the average price if your work is not a total rehab.

Usually, the common strategy that contractors do in pricing your job so cheap is to get the job. We had a previous customer who had $ 4,500 for a bathroom makeover but end up paying $ 11,000.00. The contractor said that with the $ 4,500 price the owner have no right for the following;

1. To select on the materials to be used.
2. To pressure the contractor on the date of completion.
3. It is the owner's obligation to deal on construction debris.
4. the labor has no warranty.
5. Punch list ( labor defects) will only be determined by the contractor.

With these conditions, it is more likely that the owner have no right whatsoever to complain on whatever things that the contractor would like to do on the bathroom and that is so bad. Literally you were strip of your right to have the bathroom you desire. That is not the ideal remodeling that you want. It is very clear that if you choose a contractor that is not well establish (i.e. No office where you can put down your complains, No office crews to contact all day, No name to protect, not a decent company) then we are telling you that you are doing a dangerous deal with the unknown.
