Beware of this remodeling nightmare. It may happen to you.....
You wanted to renovate a kitchen or a bathroom. You need a finishing carpenter, a plumber, and an electrician for the job, and you hire them yourself thinking that you can save money this way.The electrician worked one day, cut off all power so the finishing carpenter can go on tearing the walls safely. He leaves because everything must be finish first before he can put back the power on. The plumber went in adjusted the pipes and something is not right so he changed things. The carpenter went to work. put on the holes in the wall then put on the wall. The plumber was angry because he needed to do anything more before those walls must be placed. He removed the wall and charged you additional money for the extra work he did.
The carpenter came in and saw that the wall he just placed was destroyed and removed. he put on brand new holes in brand new walls. He charged you additional money for the additional work. When the plumber came back the wall is not right and ask you to call the carpenter to put things in right place. The carpenter is not available on that day. The plumber leaves and never reported back.
The electrician went in and find out that everything is not ready yet. He asked for some payments and leaves. Now you are calling the plumber and the carpenter to finish what they are doing but they have projects to do and can't find schedule for your job. You paid them more than half of what they are suppose to do.
Everybody is blaming each other for the job they should have been done by now. Until everyone is no longer available to finish what they are doing in your home.
Everything is still a mess in your bathroom and you cannot use it. This may sound impossible but this is happening so frequently in reality.
